Just test drove a RSX Type S....its fast!
the salesman took it off the lot with me shotgun and he redlined it and drove it like he stole it...It had 33 miles on it....He actually hit 8500 rpm...and it still wanted to go higher...
Greeeeeeeaaaaat. Can't wait to be the proud owner of THAT properly broken in engine.
Went to look at one today - it did not look as good in person as I expected.
The shifter is no where near as good in feel or as short in throw as the S2000 (new or not). But if you need a rear seat and the high VTEC revs, then it would be a good choice.

I know the Type S is what you get in teh US but really ... it's unfair to compare it to the S2000. If you read all the reviews and docs on the new ITR (I refuse to call it RSX!
), that's a WHOLE different story! APARENTLY (and I don't remember where I read it but I did) the new ITR has a better power to weight ratio than the S2000 ... but I am not sure how true that is since the #s are still not close enough to the s2000 ... may be that's cause of the FWD vs RWD config.
ANyway ... Type S vs S2000 no chance
Type R vs S2000 -> "healthy" competition

I wasn't commenting on the performance of the S2000 vs RSXR (ITR) - just the few things that I did comment on. However, if we had an RSX-R or ITR here in the US, I would get one in a second as a hot weather and cold weather car to supplement the S2000.
Guys, give him a break, will ya?
RSX is a very good small luxury coupe that happens to be very fast for the price tag.
Consider the warranty, comfort for such a small car and performance for a FWD, it is very nice. And, it will be a hit.
Not that I would think for a second about trading a stook in for it, but I'm definitely thinking about picking one up as a beater. (now more than ever......kinda scared when they said it was going to be 25k)
Maybe you can get it for 21k by the end of this year.........it would make a perfect leased beater.
