From my experience on internet forums, anyone who doesn't reply to the topic he created is generally a troll and looking to start something. Maybe i am wrong, however that has been my experience.
Gosh, 33 miles and taking a test drive to redline!
I would hate to be the sucker that ends up buying that one.
Last thing you want is some serious redline test drives before
driving it off the lot.

I test drove the RSX - S and S2K today. I noticed the lack of low end torque much more on the RSX -- it seemed significantly slower than the S2k. The shifter on the RSX is nice, but slightly more work than the S2k. The suspension on both was excellent, but the chassis of the S2k felt stiffer and more confidence inspiring around the tight curves at great speed. The noise of the RSX was obviously quieter, but clearly feels less involving.
In the end, the S2k handled like a race car and the RSX wasn't even in the same league to me. The S2k appears to be much faster in my impression -- the appearance is much more significant than the .7 or so. difference you hear in the "official" 0-60 quotes. Much of the impression is due to the feel, handling, suspension, chassis, shifter, brakes, etc...In fact, the lack of torque on the RSX was really noticable, but clearly not as bad in the S2k. Lastly, I thought I felt a slight pull when the i-VTEC kicked in and when I braked very strongly in the RSX (FWD). I felt no such pull in the S2k, due to the RWD.
To put things into context, I'm a current BMW owner looking for a roadster. Recently test drove the S2k (3 times now), Boxster-S, Z3, MZ3, TT, S4, E36 M3 (2 of them), '01 E46 M3, S4, etc...Really leaning toward the S2k...But that's another post...

Well I didn't get to test drive as they were unloaded off the truck. My guy told me what sounded like a line of crap about Acura leaving a part off of them so that they will do nothing more than idle. They'll receive the needed part via fedex 7/2 (release date). Like my feelings would have been that hurt if he said I can't let you drive one "yet". Anyway it is attractive in person. The August issue of C&D just did a full test drive & quoted 0-60 at a blistering 6.1. Seems like manufacturer's a being conservative with their clocks. Even Subaru with their claim of 6.4 0-60 for the WRX & the Mag's were at 5.8. Of course these testers a achieving these times through methods most owners would never consider. Oh well it's a nice looking piece, I'll get to drive one on 7/11 for dealers RSX coming out party.
I just got back from a test drive of the new RSX Type S.
If you live in Austin, they have one RSX Type S to test drive at the David McDavid Acura on 183.
First impressions: The car looks a little better in person than what you see in the pictures. The interior is pretty nice, leather inside, and the new gauge clusters are great (Silver with red backlight numbers/tick marks-looks really cool at night). I like the new AC controls, and with the Type S you get an in dash 6 disc CD changer, w/ Subwoofer located in the spare tire well.
The dealer told me something interesting though. He said that the new RSX's don't come "programmed" for the i-VTEC. When someone finally buys the car, they program the ECU. They said they have a "disk" which they install to "program" the car. I told them that is...well...stupid. Why wouldnt they do this at the factory? Anyway, they told me this because the "car feels slow and sluggish", and when I take it out, I would notice the same thing. Not sure if they were slinging BS at me, so I wouldnt think less of the car. Well, I get in and and start her up.
The clutch is pretty soft, it just didnt have a good feel. The 6-six speed however, had very short throws and was precise.
The sales guy was cool and told me to wind her up to see how she felt. It was sluggish below 5K rpm, but was more spirited after that. I didnt really feel that VTEC "rush" in the car when driving. Maybe they really didnt have it programmed right. From 6 to 8K it pulled pretty strongly though. The steering felt like the previous gen Tegs (which to say is pretty good), and the handling was very well mannered. Brake feel was also good. The sales guy let me run through some curves pretty hard, and on the 620 I got her up to 110 pretty quickly, the ride was stable and quiet.
All in all I did enjoy the car very much. The salesman told me he would try to get the car "programmed" by Monday, so I will go back early next week to see if there are any differences. He wants me to test drive it again. I will post back any differences I feel.
IMHO for $22-23K, its a good value.
One thing I did notice though, was that the exhaust manifold is pushed right to the front of the engine compartment. If you wanna turbo this car, looks like it will be more difficult to do then the previous gen Teg. Theres not much space in there.
BTW anyone else live in Austin, TX? Im dealing with Classic Honda in Round Rock for my S2K. I've been waiting 2 months to get my Black/Black! I was wondering if it took anyone else this long, and if they have ever delt with Classic before. So far they seem pretty nice, but they keep telling me my car will be here in 2 weeks, and when 2 weeks are up, they tell me "another 2 weeks". Maybe I should make them throw in an Alarm or something.
