It's funny how people try to compare a $32k sports roadster to a $23k sporty coupe. (or vice versa) Simply put you get what you pay for in Honda/Acura. Honda is too smart to upset their customers in terms of HP/lb per $. We'll never see any "bang-for-the-buck" products in the Honda/Acura line-up that will supercede its more expensive model.

IMHO, @ $23k RSX is a good value. Only if Honda decided to skimp on the luxury crap.

I actually read this thread last week and decided to go drive one on last Friday. The dealer by me had a couple Type S's and about six base models. I talked to the guy for a while and he asked if I wanted to drive one. I didn't think he'd let because I am 25, but I look really young and I was dressed like an 16 year old in baggy shorts and sandals. I guess pulling up in pimped out Stook swayed him otherwise. From these posts I was expecting to get a drive somewhat comparable to my Stook, but HELL NO! It was totally different. I have had an aftermarket exhaust and intake put on my Stook, but I don't think it sounded anything like the RSX before I did that mod. I could barely hear the engine. And I could feel even less of it. My Stook roars from one gear to the next and you can hear and feel it snarl at high RPM's, but I thought the RSX was almost like a touring car. I like to feel the car when I drive, and the RSX wasn't working for me. It was pretty quick, but it felt really, really big and not form fitting. did like the the materials used and the layout of the dashboard, but that was about it. The power was nice, but again, it didn't MOVE me. I really didn't care for the body that much either. It was kind of tall looking, bubbly. And what I really didn't like was that the only real body difference from the base model to the Type S is Type S badge on the back. They both even have the same wheels. I dunno, I just wasn't overly impressed. But it certainly would be a good buy for most people.
