We could sit here and poke holes in the bible all day long -- but at the end of the day, who cares. We all end up feeding the worms.

Life after death? Oh yea!
Heaven and hell? You bet!
Truth and a lie? Absolutely.
God? Always.
Devil? His name is Lucifer.
Jesus? Savior of those who believe on him.
Bible? Best thing a person could read. Hated by those who most likely never bothered to read it.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. (I Cor 3:19 [KJV]) [/QUOTE]

Hadn't seen that before. I said "Wow" out loud when I read it. In real speech it would read "Turn off your brains and follow me." Scary stuff.

That's not faith. That's afterlife insurance. Belief system based on fear of retribution. The all knowing and all loving becomes the all punishing if you step out of line. Not unlike a father with a young son who tells him, "Trust me on this one."

Fathers know things their sons cannot (yet) know, and understand things their sons cannot (yet) understand.

What's scary about that?

Ummmm. I this a Groucho thing? Answer the second question first? The "All knowlege is foolish" thing is scary. It says empty your head and become my zombie/puppet/slave/whatever I want. Question for ya. Why would a God create a life form with a brain and tell them to turn it off? Why would a God want mindless servitude? But this can go on forever can't it. I know neither of us will change his stand. You like the way everything fits nicely together in your belief system. I see the synaptic short circuits it takes to have that belief system. Put another way, again from comedy land, "If you buy the premise, you buy the bit."
