For the same reason that a father lets his son fall off a bicycle and get hurt.
That people claim to be fighting in God's name is different than people actually fighting in his name, with his blessing.

And the second part does is not an aswer as well. Who are you to decide who has god's blessing and who doesn't? Maybe those people who have killed millions of people throughout history have felt the same as you, felt the same feeling you have?

terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in
this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the
religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by
giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their
view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and
learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness;
chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself."

"I don't know. How do you steam a clam?" (Ed McMahon)
"Make fun of his religion!" (Johnny Carson)

"The curse of the Krellman diamond."
"I hadn't heard of that. What is the curse of the Krellman diamond?"
"MRS. Krellman!!"
