Ian Holms played Bilbo Baggins

Speaking of which, did you guys recognize the "head" elf back in Elfinland? I've only seen one of his other movies but it left such an impression on me. Here's a clue...

Goodbye Mr. Anderson.

He also played a drag queen in the Aussie film Priscilla "Queen of the Desert". Then did a few small roles to jump into The Matrix to this.

I'd have to agree. I found that rather annoying of his character; even the more better since he WAS the bad guy!!

I saw the movie during the holidays. It was great. Looks like the first one is going to make enough money to cover the cost of making all three of them. Can't wait till this summer to see the next one.

I read Tolkien a long time ago and didn't really remember too much of the storyline. Looks like I might have to re-read the books. They skipped the whole Hobbit book.

You're kidding right? The 2nd installment can't be coming out that quick. I would have guessed sometime next year (2003). Can anyone confirm this?!?

I wish they'd hurry up and make the second and third (Matrix)...
Wasn't Aaliyah suppose to be in the Matrix sequels? Or am I getting her mixed up with Jada Pinkett Smith. I know Joel Silver liked Aaliyah's work in Romeo Must Die. I wonder if this will affect production for the movie. Geesh, she was just 22 or something.

THat movie was Awesome. I have seen it twice and I never read any of the books. Once with my dad who has never read the books either. And once with my brother in law, who has read all the books and knows just about everything about each character and so on. I went with my brother in law the first day and he filled me in on parts that were left out and then also gave me some background on it so I had some knowledge when I went in. I think that I will have to see it a 3rd time.
