Miata related - Motor trend TV which was taped before they found out about the defency in power said something like " you can feel the additional horsepower throughout the revrange" ahahahah.. ya just like gregstevens butt dyno... (just joking greg)...ahhahahahah

Its funny that the Mustangs are mentioned because does Ford not have significant influence over Mazda? Maybe not so much or Japanese car owners are just more perceptive than American car owners.

I think most of those that returned their Miata would have sold or traded them in within 2 years anyway.

The other choice for 2001 owners is a $500 check AND free service for the remainder of the warranty period. Not too bad either.

People who really enjoy the car will not care much about the 12 HP.

According to their corporate web site, Ford does indeed have significant influence over Mazda. Ford owns 33% of Mazda, in addition to owning Jaguar, Volvo and Aston Martin, among others.

Bet the other automakers are pissed about this. This sets a new standard for corporate response to getting caught lying in an industry where lying is very acceptable. What's next, salesman who lies returns his commission?
