+1... he was involved in the brutal killing (via electrocution, brutal smashing and holding their heads under buckets of water until they died if the smashing was ineffective) of 8 dogs last april... If you want a less excessive penalty then fine, he should have a count of Dogfighting charges for each one of the dog's he killed (not just including those 8.... I'm 100% positive they have "disposed" of more than just those ones). So lets see.... reduce pentalty to one year max in prison, 50k fine.... Charge him with 15 or so counts (w/e the feds have evidence to prove) and you can keep your "lesser" penalty, we will just multiply that lesser penalty until justice is served.

Once again, it's remarkable how these star athletes find a way to sabotage their own career.

The charges involve interstate commerce, conspiracy, and could have led to a RICO charge for racketeering. Much bigger crimes than just dog fighting. If they were to dig, they'd likely come up with illegal gambling and tax evasion.
What's realy sad is how some of his supporters jsutify his actions because the dogs were "his" and he could treat them like a worn out pair of pants.

Not white-collar vacation prison either. Federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

Oh, in that case, then years in prison would be justified. I haven't read much into his case so from the news, they just mentioned dogfighting conspiracy.

Like I've said, any form of animal abuse and cruelty should be punished, as I'm an animal lover myself. However, vehicular manslaughter should still be more severe.

i'll honestly admit i was thinking he'd get like 6 months in prison and get out in 3, but then i heard that he was hanging and electrocuting the dogs, on top of the federal charges and my opinion changed

he deserves some time for that shit, but i still wouldn't be surprised if he gets out early

The NFL did not waste time in suspending MV.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Am88...ov=ap&type=lgns

Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended the Atlanta Falcons quarterback indefinitely without pay, just hours after Vick filed a plea agreement that portrayed him as less involved than three co-defendants and guilty mainly of poor judgment for associating with them.

Vick acknowledged bankrolling gambling on the dogfights.

the guy is toast. Don't see him ever getting over this. When the Falcons go after him for all the money they gave him as a sign bonus he might have next to nothing.
