They are supposedly overnighting replacement systems to customers.
Good, at least you're not SOL if your XBOX overheats. After the first XBOX, I don't see why MS decided to pull the power supply out - I still say its bad/lazy design.

Its funny how MS wants its Xbox to be a family room fixture, yet its not designed to standards that let it easily fit in with a reciever, VCR, DVD player etc in terms of width, depth, etc. Its a pretty package, but you can't do much more than stick on top of something.

I'm sorry, but the power supply should have been engineered into the box, not strung out on the power cord - its ugly and its bad design, since from reports I've read it can overheat when it lies on carpet. It should be in the box and effectively cooled like the rest of the system. Has MS announced that it will replace systems that fail in this manner?

Also, OS design is very relevant. Any system can be broken into, but it takes a lot more effort to pick three locks than to open three doors. An out of the box Mac OS can survive on the net with a basic connection without getting hacked whereas an out of the box Win XP sstem has a lifespan of about 8 minutes before it gets infected. BBC had a piece where a PC got infected in 8 seconds - its not a matter of concerted attacks, just a matter of getting hit by a random zombie attack.

Yeah my dell charger gets hot when it lies on the floor too but that isn't (at least from what I understand) what's over heating but rather the one or many of the processor(s)! Which has nothing to do with the power supply but rather the cooling system inside the case. Imagine the problems if you put the supply INSIDE! So basically you'd make the problem worse?

My win XP has a lifespan of 4 years since the beta without being infected ever! BBC obviously hit sites that were suspect on purpose on top of not using proper settings, Now SP2 comes with high security and a firewall that obviously weren't used by the BBFvCKS. Your analogy shows exactly why people get infected! You buy a house, it comes with doors, those doors have locks, YOU HAVE TO LOCK YOUR OWN DAMN DOORS!

I've seen comp sci classes I knew more in eight grade then most of those courses show you. College learnin' isn't worth a crap compaired to real life experience. If you're working in the field you know better than to hold tha peice of paper as being worth anything more than a door opener.

Actually, I think both of these things are causing crashes independent of one another. So like I said, they really can't combine the two.

That's great that you've seen an easy class. I actually persued the more challenging classes and teachers to get more out of my experience. You get out of it what you put in.

but yet you still blame the amount of virus being produced on MS?
You should know better then this. However i do agree a well written program has a better chance at protecting it self, this would limit their marketing ability.

for MS and legally making more money then any of us.

Yeah, that's why they had to pay Netscape $750,000,000
