"did you hear about the surfer who pulled a knife on Mr. Hand?" - linda asks Stacey hamilton.

My Favorite Martian Dies
He did more for extraterrestrials than ET and now actor Ray Walston, who played the lovable Uncle Martin on the 1960s hit TV sitcom "My Favorite Martian," has died at the age of 86. He also played a variety of cantankerous and crusty characters in his later years, but his fans will always remember him as that Martian with the retractable antennae who could suddenly make himself invisible, read minds, AND move objects just by pointing to them. (Hey, it was the '60s.) For those of you too young to remember the show, Walston played a Martian who crash-landed on Earth and then moved in with newspaper reporter Tim O'Hara, who was played by Bill Bixby. The trusty O'Hara kept the true identity of his visitor a secret by passing him off as his Uncle Martin. Walston, who died of natural causes after a short illness at his home in Beverly Hills, California, won a Tony in 1955 for his performance as the devil in Broadway's "Damn Yankees" and two successive Emmys in 1995-96 for his role as acerbic Judge Henry Bone in the quirky small-town series "Picket Fences." His last TV appearance was on October 15 in the season premiere of "Touched By An Angel." --Cathryn Conroy
