Allen,
psychoben showed me around Boston and we went to GREAT resturant in China town. Fresh shrimp (like right out of the tank), hot and peppered squid, and sizzling beef... all family style.
I am addicted to the squid!

Wouldn't you know it, they tried to give the whiteboy (me) a fork! They didn't know I have crazy chopstick skills!

i would stay away from the W times square. i stayed there for a week when i worked long hours at the office and it was one of the worst hotels i've been in. for one thing, it's VERY dark inside. the walls in the hallway are painted black. i think it *TRIES* too hard to be trendy. the bathroom shower doesn't have curtains or sliding doors...it's left wide open. that's pretty stupid cuz the floor gets all wet.

you can pretty much pick any area in the city and you'll be close to something. and everything is an easy subway ride away. the suggestions of things to do that have been made here already are really good.

yeah allen, a good vietnamese restaurant recommendation please! i havent had a good bowl of pho in YEARS!! i've been tempted to stroll down to ctown for some, but to be honest with you, i dont want to get shot!

all the posts on this thread are a great resource for what to do and where to stay in nyc. no matter where you go or what you do, you'll have a grand ole time!

if you happen to get a hotel in midtown (park/lex/mad@mid 40's), drop me a line, i'll buy you and your pals a few drinks after work.
