I've been seeing some Incredible gains myself in the last 5 years
At 17 years old I weighed 270lbs of PURE fat, now at 22 years old I am 172lbs and in the last few weeks have gotten serious about weight training.
Any advice you guys got? I've only gotten serious about the wights in the last few weeks, but I've maxed the bench press at 145lbs(very discouraging) can curl 25lbs about 12 times ,I can clearly see more muscle definition, but don't see it in the amount of weight i can lift...and is probably due more to the fact that I have a pretty intense cardio workout and the fat shedding off is uncovering whats always been there.

honestly, the best advice that was given to me that i didnt listen to untll last year, your eatting will have the biggest impact rather then how much time you spend there. this is the 1st time in my life where i can see all 6 abb muscles..
meat diet, as little sugar as possible. i have a nice paper of info i follow. a friend wrote some really good basic info and i added to it.
if any of you guys would ike it, pm me your email, and ill send it to you. its in a word doc.
heres some good basic info to remember
Your body burns calories for energy. It burns carbohydrates first. Carbohydrates are sugars and are found in wheat products as well as desserts Pasta, chips, and breads are broken down into sugars or carbohydrates. These are what your body uses for energy first.
Eating foods low in carbohydrates forces your body to use other sources than carbohydrates for energy. Limiting the carbohydrates given to your body, you are forcing it to use other foods first. But because meats, dairy, and eggs don

I sure hope you work more than just your upper body...I laugh when I see guys that cant scratch their own asses and have the skinniest chicken legs.
My max bench was 325lbs, but that was back in my mid 20's. I'm 36 now and have been ding around the 275lb mark 3-4 reps. I'm around the 900lbs mark on the leg press...I always had strong legs.

Maybe this is why you're only 5'9". Lifting weights at an early age stunts one's growth.
but weight lifting in general will not stunt growth. so please dont trash my thread with your bs nonsense.
but id say im 5'9" since it runs in my family... no one is over 6 ft. and my dad is about 5'7".
as far as the weight bounce, i normally dont... didnt try this much before, it came down a lil harder then i expected. thats the reason i had the pad in the middle of the bar too.
Figured id post this up as iv got quite a few pm's. the write up i spoke about was an eating healthy, not for bulk/strength. So I figured id post my normaly daily eating habbit. Everyone has different ways to go about it, im sharing mine. take it or leave it, but its worked for me..
Rule of thumb. 1 gram of protein per 1lb of body weight. so i try to take in 175-200 grams of protein a day.
Costco Kirkland chicken 12 bucks for a 6 can package. Im 100% serious when i say it tastes GREAT just eating it out of the can. it tastes really good. dont have to choke it down at all

3.5 servings in a can. 13 grams of protein per serving. =45.5 grams of protein
Muscle milk RTD (ready to drink) they taste just like chocolate milk. 18pack is 25 bucks at costco. 21 grams of protein per drink. i drink 1-2 a day.

Muscle Tech Meso-Tech protein drink. its around 40-50 bucks at GNC with their GNC card. (GNC card is 15% off what you buy)
Quite often they do a buy one get one 1/2 off and then 15% off the 1/2 off price.. so you can sometimes get 2 boxes for around 60 bucks.
This is the best tasting powder iv ever had period. it tastes like chocolate cake batter. its not thick, it just tastes sooooooooooooo good.

Also remember theirs protein in milk. 5-10 grams depending on which milk
Lunch I usually have a turkey sandwich on wheat. I love turkey. lol. Depending on what turkey you buy. protein is usually around 5-10 grams per 2 slices depending on size.i usually have 4 slices
Ater the gym. anywhere from 5-8 eggs. Usually keep about 3 yokes out of them all. Egss have around8 grams of protein each. I get the jumbo eggs. so at say 5 eggs, your 40 grams. Trust me, if you get a really good 1-2 hour work out. you can eat 5 eggs in a matter of minutes.
Recap
45 grams chicken
21/42 grams muscle milk
45 grams mixed protein shake +5 for milk
40 grams eggs.
total 172 grams. minimal sugar and fat. and its not TRANS fat which is the bad stuff.
ill snack on a few handfulls of cashews as well. Prime rib cheese steak sandwich from quiznos without mayo or onions. i get double meat. around 40-50 grams. ill usually have this twice a week if not atleast once.
Just try to remember. Good meet is pretty much a freebe as theirs not any sugar or carbs in it. high in protein. if you love tuna, pick up some cans. personally i have to choke it down if im going to eat a can in 1 sitting. the chicken tastes great though.
my huge weakness is grape juice and apple juice.. i crave it. use to go through 4-6 glasses a day till i cut down on sugar and carbs about a year go.. down to a couple a week.. and if im going to go crazy in a day, ill water it down. at 30-50 grams of sugar per glass, that gets bad pretty fast..
the list i just named off is high in protein. low in carbs. really low in sugar. and really not even bad with calories.
most body builders will tell you to increase carbs and calories. i dont as im not trying to bulk to the point of being huge. thats another reason why im my size and doing that kind of weight.
any questions, just post them up or pm me. ill sent that eating right doc. that i talked about. just didnt want people to think it was an eaiting guide for weight lifting and size. next time you guy to buy/eat something, look at the label. you will be suprised just how many foods do nothing for you but put a small dent in hunger.

Invest in some good whey protein mix, you will need to consume 1 gram of protein for every pound that you weigh to see major gains.
