It just got worse. My computer was idle for a couple hours and I came back to 30 some pop up screens of some kind of symantec email proxy error saying that an email did not go through. I didnt try to send any emails and each window was to a different address, all at yahoo.com. I do have a pop up blocker, but I think these are error messages.

Someone help.

When all spyware is out, quit using Internet Explorer and use Mozilla Firefox.

First and foremost, back up all you important data.

What I'm going to suggest is very time consuming and quite technical. Download a program called HijackThis:
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/hjt.zip

I have never really used this program so I don't know much, but here is a HijackThis tutorial:
http://hjt.wizardsofwebsites.com/

I was going to suggest WildersSecurity, but they stoped their services. WildersSecurity was a place where you could post your HijackThis results and get some feedback. You might be able to get some help from their forums. Do a search regarding your problems, and hopefully the solution will be there.

Post your HijackThis results here in this thread, and if I have time I'll try to sort it out.

If you don't want to do all of this you can try reinstalling windows.

Once you're all fixed, download these programs and keep them updated:
Ad-Aware
Spybot
Spyblaster (this programs prevents spyware from touching your hard drive, instead of removing it)
Foxfire (best web browser ever!)
An anti-virus software (I use AVG because it's free)

If you have any question let me know. Good Luck
