Default Need help with Legal concern regarding a car

I was 90% on my way to buying a car from Platinum Auto, but things went sour and the dealer decided to no longer sell me the car unless I wire him 15000 because he decided to not take any type of payments but wire transfers.

Now, hes holding 5000.00 of mine and agreed to send it back, but he seems like a real shady character. He already said, he was goin to keep my initial down payment of 500 dollars for his time and expenses over 2 weeks and I agreed to that.

I'm afraid that he might pull something on me and try to take more out of the remaining 5000.00.

What can I do if he does decide to keep more money w/o my consent?

this is the website www.platinumauto.com

I put a $2000 deposit down for a Mini Cooper 2 years ago but backed out b/c they tried to charge me 18% finance and charge various "add ons". Got my full deposit back when I asked.
2 weeks of his time is not worth anything b/c that's the risk you take when you are a seller.

The auction doesn't say by wire transfer only. Get ALL of your money back. He's playing you because you caved on the $500. He thinks you'll cave on the $5000. Did you complete this through Ebay?

Why are you not getting it? It's a rare color combination with low miles and a hardtop. What's wrong with it?

call the Attorney General and ask them for some advice. You would be amazed how quickly people work when someone like that is calling them.

I worked for a shady warranty company out of college and I would always advise people to call the AG (i would do it quietly so I wouldn't get fired).

Here in PA there is no such thing as a "non" refundable deposit unless it is something that was customer ordered, which is not the case for you.....

goodluck.

Pay the money for a lawyer to write a threatening letter. It shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks or so. Scots attorney general advice is even better.

thanks. I am talking to an attorney now about the situation. This was a out of state deal and the cashiers check was written to his business (platinum auto) and he did deposit it in his bank. That is more than enough to prove that he has my money and I have no car right?
