Anyone doubting the 38 round need only try some wadcutter rounds that have been inverted.

Those open some nice holes.

Anyone has a CZ?
I have a CZ-75 9mm.

I've fired lots of 9mm glocks in my day, but the CZ feels much better in my hand and I've had ONE jam in two years of owning it.

While I agree I'm going to toss another option out there. I think this is a great "bedroom" gun. Watch this short video of the Taurus, The Judge.
That's really impressive. I might have to pick one of those up...

Ya, most people can handle a 44, or a casull, at night half sleepy, and untrained. Scare the intruder with powder burns maybe.

The calibers to avoid for a first gun would be .22LR, .357, 10mm, .45, .457, .50.
my first gun was a .357 mag with a 2" barrel, laods of fun
second was a .22 rifle, third was a 7.61X54R (also a blast, tons of power) and now my fourth gun, a .45. I shot a bunch of guns before, I am still lacking a couple of rifles...

Here is my CZ

It's all stainless steel, and gives you a much better sense of balance than composite guns like the Glocks.

About 3000 rounds and one jam so far. Clean it after every second shooting session.

Keep it loaded with hollow-tips next to my bed. Don't come round here.
