I love my gf's employee discount - 5% over cost

And no, you can't beat their pricing on the stuff I used her discount for online. It's absolutely crazy the markup that BB puts on some of their stuff..
Josh, can you hook a fellow Texan up? I want to buy local for customer service and ease of returning something if needed.

Haha sorry, but I can't. I've tried to get the girlfriend to buy stuff for a few friends before.. but says she doesn't wanna risk losing her job. She's so stingy...

I guess I need to get a girlfriend at Best Buy....but I think the divorce would cost me more than I saved.

Honestly, if you were ever looking to do some serious Audio/Video upgrades to your house it would be worth it to get a part-time job there. Especially during Christmas season when there is no 30-day wait before you can use your discount. I knew a guy that worked there for 2 weeks (just on Saturday) and bought two TVs, a 7.1 surround sound system and 5.1 system, furniture, washer/dryer, fridge, etc. It would be well worth it if you didn't have anything else to do on a Saturday.

Interesting. Might consider it. Heck, it's my wife that wants the stuff - I'll tell her to go work there! Heh heh.

I follow the logic that mail-order is the best way. I am a big Amazon and e-bay shopper. But a percentage of my electronic-related purchases are impulse buys. This is stuff I'm not willing to wait for. I'm an idiot for wanting it in the first place, not just how I buy it!

The issue I have with online retailers is that returning an item could be very expensive and/or time consuming. Having a local store (BB, CC, or whatever) seems like a better choice for such high-dollar items as TVs and such.

Friends/Significant others are definitely awesome to have at BestBuy. I haven't paid full price on anything from BestBuy in the past 2 years, except video games [which have little markup anyways]. And on top of that, I got a brand new Xbox Elite "exchanged" for my Xbox Premium, with no receipt, box or service plan.

....And I only paid 200 for my xbox premium, but shhhh.....

Come to think of it....I actually love Best Buy! Sort of

My friend used to work there, and as good a friend as this guy is, he is dumb as rocks.

But the one I go to isn't bad at all, I have never had any problems.
