anyways, to compare the quadcore G5 @ $3300 vs. that $800 Gateway is not even a good comparison. this is the top of the line tower, compare the cost of a top of the line PC tower instead. the quad is equivalent to 4 processors the Gateway is not. i believe it is a pentium D. much slower system bus, half the cache, RAM expandable to 2gigs vs 16 gigs on the Quad (don't laugh, i know someone with 8 gigs who wants more and actually needs more

the MAC is better than PC in graphics i disagree with, at least regarding PRINT work. i dont do video work....
but i have worked with both, starting out in design with MACS, a g4...
they cost more, but were no ways near as fast or functional as my PC...
I can have Quark, Illustrator, and Photoshop running, along with web, and document files open and my PC runs seemlesly
and what i design looks incredible on my laptops 17 in truebright LCD.
throw in an ATI mobile card and you have your graphics..
I just cannot see how people can justify spending close to a thousand dollars more for less than what they could be getting...
heres an idea, worried about windows security?? get educated, take that extra cash your saving and buy some protection, or buy some books, read them, and learn your shit!

There's nothing wrong with the internals, it all about the shutting the common man out of the market by being "elite", overcharging and in the extent of developing it just doesn't make sense
Just like a MAC fan boy to not see how increadibly overpriced it is.

for common sense.Listen guys you own a MAC cool great have fun. You paid extra for whatever it was you liked about it. Maybe it's just the OS or maybe the cool plastic surrounding many of the same basic compunents in most PCs, fine. That's your call and I do think it look better but as for being a value at about a grand more, the hassels that surround it. Well I disagree with you. I'll leave it at that. I already posted the comparable systems and prices. The discussion of the OS is purely a matter of opinion. Its a fact that more developers, develop for windows. The quality of the product might be better than brand X but isn't better than some brand Y PCs. I've only had two failures in my life, viruses are a non issue for the people with a clue.
i don't think bad, less or anything remotly negative about MAC owners. I just don't share the opinion that its even remotely better.
