They had one girl sing a song and try to pass that off as the voice of a different girl. How is that the same?

You mean kind of like voice-dubbing or body-doubling in Hollywood movies and stuff? Oh no!!!!!!!!!!! The world is ending!

yah, I wasn't saying that it doesn't happen here. It's just that when you tell a 7 year old that you sound great and we want you to sing for our country. Oh, but you're ugly so you're not gonna be on tv.
Over 1 billion people in the country and you can't find a child that can sing well and still looks cute enough to be on tv?

Maybe that cute girl is a daughter of some very high official. The one who can sing isn't ugly, she just has crooked teeth, that's all.It works differently in a communist or socialist society.

What are you talking about? This isn't the same thing as digitally enhancing Brittany Spears' voice. You don't see her or Miley Cyrus or the other teenie boppers trying to pass Tina Turner songs as their own. Totally different situation.

And it's not like they passed it off. It was announced in major newspapers and the other girl is credited. It's like when they have dubs for signing voices in movies. It's not like the girl doing to dub is getting robbed, she knew what she signed up for.

As for telling that girl she's not pretty enough to be on TV, that's just the reality of performing arts in a hollywood world, where it's all about the image. I think it's no worse than outright telling a girl she's not pretty enough to star in some grape juice commercial or some Toy R Us commerical. Rejections of children based on appearance happens at every level, at every age in the entertainment business, that's why all the kids we see are so darn cute. Think that for every cute kid you see on TV, there were probably thousands of slightly less cute kids told that they were too ugly to be chosen (well probably in kinder terms than that, but you get the idea). My boss has this real cute 6 year old kid that tried out for some parenting magazine, and got rejected. She was sad, but she wasn't scarred for life or anything. At least this girl got to sing for billions, and I bet she was mad excited to do that.
