I have a friend of a friend that owns a topless bar here. He bought an existing one and is in the process of remodeling it now to make it a little nicer. I know he paid a pretty good amount for it, but it brings in a lot of cash every week. I agree that buying an existing establishment would avoid a lot of the red tape involved in setting up a new one.

 

100K is cutting it close, but....youll probably need more, banks dont like to loan money for this, youll need TONS of permits.....

And youll definetely be paying off the mob. Dont do it, youll just hurt yourself financially and possibly physically.

Not the Mob persay, but more in case, the Hell's Angels. Many skin-bars are owned by shady characters, being that they are usually shady businesses. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all, but lots of strippers are drug users, and there is a lot of cocaine dealings going on on the side in peeler bars. In some cases, the club is just a cover for a drug dealing operation. If the dancers can fraternize with the "customers", do a few rails for free, and help the club owner move more product.... well, you see where I'm going with this.
Like I said, this is why many skin-bars are owned by shady characters (ie. Mob or H.A.). Plus, the clubs that aren't run by these type of people, always have H.A. or Mobsters offering "protection". If you don't pay them their "protection" money every month, you are liable to find your club in flames from a "mysterious fire".

Put simply, this is a very largely mob owned industry. Just like waste (garbage, etc) construction, strip clubs, ports/dock unions....these are highly (80%+/-) mob controlled industries. They dont usually allow people to compete with them, but will let you if give them "protection" money. This isnt as big a problem today as it was in the 90s, but still exists today.

Like I said, NOT something you want to get involved in. You have no control over the girls (they can have friends yadda yadda yadda) and the drug game will be a big problem.

Dont do it. Get it out of your head. Open a nice lounge instead.

 

Once you understand the economics of alcohol. . . you'll realize that the strip club was a bad idea. . .

. . . just watch of shrinkage of inventory from your bartenders, and you're in like flint.
