I think it is wrong for all of you to assume he is doing this for profit!

The reason for shady-character risk is the all-cash nature of the business. It is possible someone will come to you some day to make you an offer you can't refuse.

There's an entire county here in NC trying to go dry just to push out one single strip bar. They're not really popular or easy to run. I think you're better off just buying a metro parking lot and charging for people to park there. Maybe a do it yourself carwash.

yea, I'm not. Women who take of their clothes for money turn me on.

I know these places make money (maybe not in a GAAP sense). Well, at least I had enough knowledge to ask about the mob so I'm not clueless.

I consider a liquor license to be more an expense than capital. I had thought of a bar, but not a restaurant as those are too much work.

$100,000 is more than enough... If you can't do it in wherever you're from, come to Chicago and I'll help you set it up. The key to doing something like this is knowing tons of girls who are ready and willing to have fun. Once you make this happen, the money that comes out of it is unimaginable...

BTW, a liquer license is easy to get... but you have to know the right people... You get the idea

100K won't get you anywhere close.

Consider the cost for a liquor license. It varies widely from area to area, but 100K hardly buys you a liquor license in MA, for example.

Legal costs to cut through the red tapes assuming you can. Even if you can't after trying, that money is gone.

Lease $ for 1st and last month + 1 month security + months needed for renovation. That's at least 5 months of upfront lease cost before you see a dime. Commercial lease also requires longer lease commitment.

Cost for renovation itself - stage(s), mirrors, lighting, sound system + labor + furniture

$ for at least some advertising leading up to the opening

Cost for administrative equipments

$ for liquor and beer invenory

All kinds of state and local fees to the gov - aka the other mob

There are so many other little things. I'd say you need at least 400K working capital (be it your own money or business loan) to get it off the ground and sustain the first few months of operation. You would be amazed how quickly a business can burn through cash. That's my guess.

If you're 20, tell me one thing... How do you plan to get a liquor license? You can't even get into a bar yet!
Maybe you were planning on opening one up in Canada I guess
