Default Passport needed for domestic travel?

My girlfriend's passport is expired and we wanna go to Miami next month. Reneweing a passport can take up to six weeks. She is NOT a U.S. citizen. Does she still need a passport for domestic travel?

Does she have a driver's license or birth certificate? What nationality is she? She'll need some form of official document, or she won't be getting on any plane. Also, don't try using the expired passport - ICE and TSA don't like that.

You don't need it for domestic travel, but Saki is right about I.D. for boarding an airplane.

Perhaps her embassy could help her get one faster.....

I doubt it'll be a problem (assuming she's not leaving the country at all).

Having said that, does she have her visa papers with her? A couple of friends of mine recently went to a national park in Texas (bordering Mexico) for vacation, and ran into a bit of problem with border patrol because they didn't have their paper work with them.

If she has a driver's license with photo she'll be fine.

^^ Agree if she has a Drivers License she's good to go. She will only need her passport if she's going out of the country OR on a CRUISE!!
