The law is cut and dried. Don't want a ticket don't break the law. It's funny how you read about someone on this board who gets a speeding ticket (they broke the law they admitted it) and then ask how to get out of it.

Wanna speed, great pay attention pick your spots. If your hauling and don't have a clear view of the road and get pinched, well fvck you in the a$$ with donkey dlck you deserve it. Man up and take your lumps. Or have a lawyer on retainer. Can't afford a lawyer don't speed.

How many people here speed and have never been to racing school or have any training on car control other than some crappy drivers ed thing.

I understand where you are coming from but no matter how you look at it you can't even offer to bride a law enforcer to catch rapists.

A law enforcer has to be held to an extreme high standard.

He must do his job based on evidence and reality not incentives.

You wouldn't want him to bypass the process just to get another score.

He needs to be methodical and ethical all the way with nothing to bias his actions.

Rather the offence was legitimate or not isn't relevant.

He must come to his conclusions without any outside influences or pressure. Not even a penny.
EXCELLENT Point. Your post basically sums it up for me.

Being a cop is not really like every other job.

On a side note, anytime I see a cop driving, he is going over the speed limit, and he has to make his way through every other car slowing down to exactly match the speed limit. If the speed limit is really there because of safety, cops shouldn't get a free pass to break it when driving (non-emergency, of course). Maybe we should be able to give a citizen's arrest-style ticket to cops..

that would be a good argument if we had reasonable speed limits

Instead of giving incentives to "write the most tickets" maybe cops should be given incentives to not abuse their rights as law enforcement officers. I can remember a couple situations off the top of my head where cops stretch their powers beyond the scope of duty:

1. My friend stops at an All Way stop sign FIRST then a police patrol car approaching from my friend's left side decides to disregard the stop sign and rolls through it. The police car hits the rear fender of my friend's car. After, a cop buddy of the officer behind the wheel writes up the report, not surprisingly - in favor of the cop who caused the accident in the first place.

2. Cops just disregarding red lights and driving thru them like they own the whole goddamn street????? Don't tell me you've never seen some popo on the street do this once in your life. They justify writing up speeding tickets, but they have the nerve to run red lights? Explain that one please.

I don't hate cops, but just the fact that some of them flex their powers in ways that are so hypocritical to everything they stand for just irks me so much.

Speeding is such a huge problem?!

If it was I'd say we put up speed cameras every mile or so on every public road.

They make enough revenue to pay for themselves quickly.

Cheaper than police officers.

Hum..but that wouldn't happen if we put them everywhere right?

People would go 5 miles an hour under the speed limit everywhere, so as to not get a ticket, just like PA.

Then they would stop speeding all together.

Now that would mean a virtual stop to all speeding revenue and safer streets and police would be freed up to do real police work.

You might as well ass red light cameras to this as well.

Now everyone will drive like a crotchety old person.

Then you can bribe them to catch the most rapists.

Sound good?

It's as simple as this. If they govt. really used the speed limits for our safety they would legislate speed limiters built into every car. Why do they allow cars that have tons of HP if they care about safety? Does your Camry really need 240 hp? NO. Its all BS to fill their coffers.

You know it. All these 'laws' are there to raise revenue and gain more control over the populace.

I don't understand how people can look at the situation and think it's normal. Is it because they grew up with it and were never taught to think for themselves?

People who work at clothing stores put the 80%-off tags on the clothes they want to buy, and people that work at McDonalds get free food, it's the way things are. You want to break laws all day and get away with it, stop bitching and become a police officer.
