planning a snowboarding trip
i am trying to put together a snowboarding trip for winter break and need some advice. This is the first time I am organizing a trip like this, so I need to know what the costs may be and any other information that is crucial. For instance, I know I need to figure out rental costs, lift tickets and lodging. Does anyone know if there are any websites online that I can get deals from? We are also undecided on where to go, I was thinking about the west virginia or pennsylvania area. which would you guys recommend and what resort?
i've planned some snowboarding trips and am currently planning one now. in PA, there's the poconos area. many resorts have nearby lodging and ski/ride for free deals. if you know a specific mountain you want to go to, you can pretty much look up their website and get more information there. i know the poconos area had some powder days last year. places like shawnee, camelback, big boulder, etc...they all have their own websites. just google it. good luck!
We just got some more snow in the Tahoe area. Some places have nearly 3ft already. Almost everywhere will be open by T-giving and a couple are open (albeit very limited) now.
A snowboarding trip is just like any other vacation, you just need to factor in lift tix and gear (if you need it). You need lodging, transportation, food and entertainment basically.

thats another thing. ive gone snowboarding a few times the past few years to massenutten, ski liberty, snowshoe, etc. but what else is there for entertainment besides snowboarding and skiing. a few of my friends will be first timers, so i want some other things to do just in case they cant handle it. i am in college and any type of deals would be great.
at the bigger resorts, the nightlife is pretty good. but i think places like vermont and out west, like colorado have much larger resorts than PA or West Virginia.
other than snowboarding, you can probably rent snow mobiles...i hear they're loads of fun. there's also snow-tubing and sledding.
when are you planning on going? there late season deals in march-april at a lot of the resorts. definitely check out their websites. it also helps to have your own equipment too, as rentals can cost you anywhere from $25-50 a day, depending on the type of rental (regular vs demo). if you go multiple days, there are usually multiple-day lift tickets for sale which can save you a few bucks.
