Default Playstation One and PS2 memory cards

I read on the back of the memory card products for these systems that the Playstation One memory card will not work with PS2 system and that the PS2 memory card will not work with the Playstation One system. Is this true that it won't work with a different system?

I already have Gran Turismo 2 and only have to beat the licenses in gold. I already beat every other race and got all levels on arcade disc.

Should I buy these games for PS2-yes or no?

Gran Turismo 3 (I already have Gran Turismo 2)
Grand Theft Auto 3 (never played any GTA games before)
Burnout (car ramming and chase game, looks cool)

yes or no to each of the games above......

Listen Bro.... i've tried PS1 cards and they won't work period! the PS2 cards are 8MB, so they do hold more. personally i think that GT3 is no comparison to GT or GT2. it straight kicks booty. GTA3 is like the best game i've seen so far on PS2, just get it and you'll know what i mean! i've never played burnout, i would rent it before i bought it! but the other two games straight kick A$$! Good Luck Bro!

yes, it is true.

GT3 gets boring, but has really good graphics and cool cars (like the F1 cars).
GTA3, get it.
Burnout, no idea.

GT3: Buy it
GTA3: Buy it
Burnout: I have that game and I love it, if you like crazy, excellent crash mechanics, and full speed arcade style racing

Mike is dead on here. You can play PS1 games in the PS2, but you have to have a PS1 memory card to save the PS1 games. Same goes for PS2 games...you need the PS2 memory card to save them.
