Poll on e46 M3 color.
Phoenix Yellow has grown on me during the past year and I've come to really like it's unique qualities (call me weird). It has several things I like; 1) light metallic color that shows lines/details well, 2) one of two unique M3 colors, 3) love it or hate it color. I'm seriously considering ordering a PY/BLK M3 when my #3 comes to fruitition.

My other choices are all rather common "safe" choices, steelgrey/red, silver/red, white/grey.

Loki, the problem is every shot of PY looks different
Most 'real' shots I've seen look like pea soup (eeeewwwww). What you should do,
, is do custom order Dakar Yellow. My 97 M3 was Dakar, black. Great combo and my fav. yellow.
By the way, the car in your picture looks just like Dakar and nothing like PY to me?

Silver,
Not sure if you're still on bimmer.org but I talked to the owner of this PY M3 and he said that color's very close to what it appears in person. I did a quick levels correction but that was it. I didn't like Dakar Yellow II, it looked a little too light like it had too much white in it and I never saw Dakar Yellow I so I can't comment about that version.
I'm not sure if you saw the Kiwi interior but it's kinda neat:

I can see you're enjoying your M5 and you got to keep the S2000 ta boot. Woohoo!

Hey, if it looks like that in person, go for it! It is very Dakar I w/a touch of green vs cream highlight. I'd stay away from kiwi interior though. Too much for me (and resale I would think). Plain old black would do nicely.
P.S. Yeah it's all fun and games until the girlfriend realizes I'm driving a bunch of expensive cars and she's got no ring
