So called political discussions are unfortunately very often thinly disguised racism, nationalism or other narrowminded holier-than-thou attitudes. I think you'd see most of these topics degenerate and end with a moderator locking it. I'd prefer if s2000online is a "politics-free zone". On the other hand i already skip the forums and topics i don't care for, so if other people want it that's OK too.

Locking my thread about china is rediculous. We have a unique opportunity here to involve people from all over the world in discussions that normally would be reserved for just the people we work with. I wanted to know the opinions of folks like Mingster and some of our European freinds as well.

This isn't "Too Political", it's a very real situation affecting the whole world.

If you want to just stick to the same old stupid burnout videos and "what can I do about the back window" posts then go ahead without me.

Agreed, but this is an S2000 site after all. If you're not interested in the rear window you're perhaps in the wrong forum? I'm sure there are many many sites available for political discussions where you will find very interested and interesting people to discuss this with. People on this board are probably here primarily in their role as owners and drivers, not their ethnical or political background. I'm not sure what can be deduced from what "S2000 owners with asian background" think about a political issue. But again, please go ahead with a Politics Forum or post in Off-Topic, i'll just skip to Car Talk.

If we don't allow politics here, I don't care.

If we do, I'll participate, because some people see things as being more humorous than political. An example:

Are we debating the politics of this board?

Feel free to post political stuff here:

It's a forum created by the guy (Fazle) who hosted H-A.net - before everything went to Hell in a hand basket.

ScottB, the fact is that most people come here to discuss the S2000. If you notice, many "off-topic" posts are also about cars other than the S2000. Not everyone enjoys debating politics, and I would bet that many people enjoy perusing this board because they get to share a common interest...their enthusiasm for the S2000 and cars in general.
