Default Popups while using firefox.

Iv'e been using firefox for a while now, was great to get away from the IE pop ups...For some reason i keep getting insane amounts of pop ups through firefox...I thoguht it was impossible to get them through firefox...Anyone know how to get rid of this annoying crap..tried Adaware but didnt help too much...I think it all started when i clicked some fake myspace profile browsing through myspace. I appreciate any help on how to get rid of this annoying garbage.

Yes, use Adblock. I don't remember where I downloaded it but if you do a Google it will come up.

It doesn't stop them all but does a good job of it. It gets rid of almost all the annoying ads on S2ki. I no longer have the incolumn ads, just the header ads.

You could also just activate Pop up Blocker in Firefox.

Adblock, Flashblock, and some script blocker in Firefox for for me on my Windows Machine. You can also disable javascript until you need it.

Of course, if you have spyware or adware, it won't matter. When a window pops up, is it a irefox window or an IE window?

What i clicked was some girls myspace page on one of my friends' myspace page. He accepted some girl he didn't know as his "friend" and they left a comment on his page. I clicked it and then numerous pages started popping up and it hasnt stopped since. I guess ill try the "Adblock" Wildncrazy suggested.

Over one million Windows users got infected with some spyware or adware last week thanks to an infected image file and another Microsoft IE vulnerability. A week before it was a Flash vulnerability that infected a ton of Windows users. Hooray for Windows!
