I would wait for pictures also a quote from the wheel shop the buyer brought the wheels to. Also if possible, call the wheel shop and talk to the manager about the wheels.

Like stated before has the buyer had the wheels balanced, just a couple of ounces off would make the steering wheel shake bad.

Also what condition were the tires in when you shipped them?? Being he has stock suspension and you (i'm assuming) have modified suspension, means that his alignment is probably good (camber wise) so the tires going from a negative camber to a straight camber will cause the steering wheel to shake badly also because of the uneven tire wear.

These are just a couple of other things to think about also.

Thanks for the advice. Would different tire wear cause a bit of vibration? I am sure you are right about how my tires would wear differently because of my suspension and height...

The buyer just gave me the quote. $105 per rim to repair and 3 of the 4 were damaged. I also notified him of this thread.

He is still working on getting the pics. If I make it home in time tonight I am going to call greyhound tonight to try see if they will help out.

Repair what?

Did he get them balanced? That is the first thing you do with vibration. Is there damage or contact marks on the tires. You don't jack up a wheel and leave the tired unblemished.

I guess repair the bent wheels??

He said he got them balanced. I'll ask him tire damage though. I know for sure that there were no visible damage on the tires when I shipped them out. Those were the ONLY tires I have ever had on those wheels.

Do you have pictures of the wheels from when you sold them?? If you do compare them to the pictures the buyer sends you.

A funny thing just happened. I called the shop in which the buyer went to verify the damage and quote.

I asked the guy if he remembered a customer coming in and getting a quote on a set of gold volks with polished lip that were supposively bent.

He did not recall. After a few moments, the said he did remember a guy "calling" in for a quote and that yes, they do charge about $105 for a repair on bent wheels.

What I find funny is that the buyer told me he got the quote and he knew 3 wheels were bent with out the repair shop even seeing the wheels in person.

I ask specifically for the buyer to specifically bring in for a quote from a repair shop since tire stores do not deal with repairing wheels.

Btw, I still haven't recieved any pictures.

Our last messages:

ME - "How could you get an accurate quote without actually taking the wheels in? Can you please take them in so they can be professionally inspeced?"

HIM - "If it cost me money no... I took it to americas tires and seen the wheel hop and tire wear myself..."

ME - "It shouldn't cost you anything to get a quote"

HIM - "Had a quote 105 a rim.. And take them off to get inspected will cost"

He may be telling the truth but its hard to give the buyer the benefit when he isnt doing anything to back his case.
