Yes, I do believe he could be telling the truth. That's why I'm trying my best I can to make this right. I would be very upset if I recieved wheels that are damaged.

But I just realized another point. Why would the wheels still be on his car if they are damaged. Shouldn't he have put his old wheels back on?!

Again, this is his last quote - "Had a quote 105 a rim.. And take them off to get inspected will cost"

What should I do now? Keep in mind he still owes me his set of AP2 wheels/tires.

-Edit-
I asked him why are the wheels still on his car if they are damaged. He now says they are off.

Possibilities:

You sent them damaged and knew they were damaged

You sent them in fine condition and they were damaged during shipping

You sent them in fine condition, the new owner damaged them and wants to see if you pick up the tab

You sent them in fine condition and the owner already had a set of damaged wheels and wants to evenutally get you to take his damaged wheels for a refund

There is nothing wrong with them at all and the buyer just wants to recoup some $ through a scam

The wheels are fine and the new owner has not had them balanced properly

Space aliens damaged the wheels

Get some pics of the wheels and post them.

Any other possibilities I am missing?

Now how to do I narrow down the possibilities. Better yet, what should I be doing to make this work out?

Our last messages:

HIM - "Fitting wheels on in my car is a pita... I work M-F and its a pain trying to do all this.."

ME - "I'm out of town for a wedding and I'm suppose to be enjoying my time off from school and work. Do you think I want to be on my phone all day trying to resolve this problem?

HIM - "No but I paid you already for something that was suppose to be legit.. U can text me when you get back..

The guy sounds shady. Refund the money, split the shipping cost (or eat it) and get the wheels sent back to you.

Also, post the location where this guy is at so some local members can show up at his place and take a look at the wheels.

Having members take a look at the wheels would be a good idea. It would be setting us further back if he were to ship the wheels back. Shipping from Ca to Ohio would be $180 for him. It was $150 for me because of a student discount.

What I hope for is that greyhound will cover the cost of the repair. He can get his wheels back to perfect then ship the ap2 wheels to me.

The problem is he doesn't want to bring in his wheels for a quote in person!

^ which = if you want a refund/ claim something is wrong, it needs to be assessed by a professional.

I'm still not quite convinced that there is anything to repair....

To be honest that's how I feel. It's hard to believe shipping did damage to these wheels. It would have to take some serious force. However, from my point of view and what he is telling me that is the only option for me to believe. On my behalf, I know fo sure that these wheels were perfectly fine when I shipped them out. That's why I even wrote that they are straight and true. I had no vibrations, nothing... And to top it off I have had no problems balancing them.

I know if I had some damaged wheels, the first place I would be is at a repair shop to find ou EXACTLY what the problem was and how much it would cost to fix.

I've never doubted him before because he doesn't seem like a person who would just make up something like this.

However, a few points are starting to make myself question what is going on:

1 - I ask him to take the wheels in to a repair shop so they can look at it. He tells me that they said 3/4 of the wheels are damaged with out even taking them in to the shop!

2 - He stated he had to pay the repair shop for labor to take off the wheels for a quote. RIGHT after I ask him why are they still on the car if damaged? He says they are off the car.

3 - He still haven't provided me with pictures of the "marks" on the tires that are evidence from the wheels being bent.

4 - I notified him of this thread and he still hasn't responded in here.
