Default PS2 mod chip?

When I stilled used my PS1 I had a mod chip to play import and my "backup" copies of games, and I am wondering if there is any mod chip for the PS2. I just got a DVD burner and would like to make "backups" of my games so i don't scratch my copies . So if you have any info on mod chips for ps2's please post.

Check out console source. You can mod it yourself if you know how to solder the chip. Or if you know somebody who's good at soldering, he/she can do it for you.

Personally, I have the Swap Magic discs with the Slide Card. The only reason why I bought it was because I have GT4: Prologue, and I didn't want to deal with soldering.

LoL, same reason I got my chip was for GT4 Prologue. I have yet to install mine though, the soldering job is VERY difficult. The points are tiny.

Elements, you can pretty much search the web for "PS2 mod chip". www.mod-chip.com is also another place.

I had both my PS2 and my XBOX done by this guy:

He is in SF, very knowledgeable about mod chips, and does the job quickly.
