...and don't forget.....

In English, a condom is commonly referred to as a "French letter", or "a packet of three".

I've also been told that in France, they call them "English letters". I wonder what le car calls them, seeing he's practically a native of both countries now!

In OZ, we call you guys Septics.......

rhyming slang "septic tanks" rhymes with "yanks".

I take it you all understand what a septic tank is - on second thoughts you don't want to

What about the car boot and bonnet (i.e., trunk & hood)?
Also, if your a man, don't say your putting on your suspenders - - - those are garter belts according to the Brits.
Lastly, never 'root' for the home team because rooting is slang for sex according to my friends in Oz.

Rooting is actually an old english expression which has fallen out of favour everywhere except Australia. Its etymological root (pardon the pun) is rut - as in animal rutting season.

I understand the f word is also derived from the french word for fornication.

To 'root' for something is fine in English language.

When comparing sports, there are some things worth noting:

Rugby = blokes WITHOUT padding playing a very physical game and often getting hurt.
American Football = blokes with LOADS of padding running about tackling people without the ball =/

Baseball = played by blokes with hard hats in silly costumes
Rounders (baseball) = played only by girls without any hard hats in short skirts.

What am I trying to say ? American sportsmen are whimps

Let the flames begin

Another Anglicism that is amusing to NA ears is "shag"- we know that the pufters out there would get up in arms if a British movie got advertised on TV in the US that kepts alking about F##king
