If you have the Cool web search error, Adaware and spybot are not going to work. You will have to get the cool web shredder off of the internet.

Also find and download a tool called "ToolBarCop".

I had the same thing. First I had a Netscape "IE Search Agent" load anytime I tried getting onto S2Ki. Then it started loading for S2KCA. Finally, I couldn't even get into Google site.

ToolBarCop cleaned it up.

After the Netscape crap, I started getting a "SmartSearch" page....it looked like a retardo Google mimic. I ran ToolBarCop again and it found a lot of BHO's (???). I deleted the majority of them.

No more problem now.

BHODemon works pretty good for removing things that constantly change your IE homepage and settings. One thing to do is put IE 6 on the highest security setting, and add only the specific sites you trust to the "Trusted Site" group. And porn sites are the #1 cause of spyware and malware - don't surf porn, you don't have problems, by and large. If you can't see their pics on the highest security setting, then don't bother - their site will install spyware when you load it with reduced security - that is how they get victims to load their stuff.

Also, if you download cracks, quite often (read: almost 100% of the time) you need to consent to installing spyware, even if they don't tell you that is what you are consenting to. Either be prepared to handle this immediately, or don't download cracks. Again, the crack is the bait.
