Really old school - does anyone remember?

My first real RC was a Hornet, with the oil filled shocks. Later I had a Bigfoot and an RC10. Remember rebuilding the differentials and replacing fuses all the time.

While it's not very old-school, I got into RC's by my uncle sending my brother and me a cheap one nearly every Christmas for a period of time growing up. Eventually, he bought me a nice off-road truck from Radio Shack, and while he was telling me about some people that drove nice ones out where he lived, I started dreaming. I was going to get into 1:10 at first with a Traxxas Bandit, but my small junior-high budget led me into micro RC's before they peaked in popularity (several years before Xmods and zip-zaps were even thought of. ). Ironically, that hobby was what got me into real cars, because I wanted to know more about what these cars modeled.

While I don't remember every car I currently or previously owned, some highlights are:

Traxxas E-Maxx
Team Losi XX-T
Team Losi Mini-T
Many Kyosho Mini-Z's (around 5 normal ones in total, 2 or 3 overland off-road ones)
Even more Xmods (I'd say in the neighborhood of 7-10)
Dynamite Rocket Racer (first "proportional" car, slick flat-pan 1:24 car)
Duratrax Mini-Quake
Literally dozens of 1:64 cars (Including an imported-from-japan 350z Bit Char-G, total over 50)
3 Epoch Indoor Racers (fantastic proportional 1:43 cars)

All this in addition to several helis, planes, and two UFOs.

I probably could have gotten a used Elise had I not spent so much money on RCs back then.

Just got my 22 month old 3 R/C cars to get started:

Jada Toys Lincoln Navigator with spinners

Jada Toys Challenger

Fast Lane R/C Range Rover

He's knows how to use the stick controller, but not the trigger/wheel controller yet. He'll get it soon.

My first real RC was the Tamiya Hornet. I ran a 9 turn peak performance truck motor on it and placed low profile Blackfoot wheels and tires on it. The manual speed controller handled the motor and would make the car do long wheelies! It was sooo fast! This RC's chassis broke like every week however due to the weak front end where the servos went. Even though I had to change the chassis a million times, it was fun since I got to take apart the car each time.

Later in my middle school years, my teacher sold me his RC12 and I placed my 9 turn motor in that thing. Pan Chassis FTW! That car was the fastest car i've owned. Had that laying around for a few years until one day I decided to give all of my stuff to Goodwill (Blackfoot parts, The Hornet, The RC12, etc).

Currently I have:

1. TamiyaRaybig NSX TT01
2. Tamiya Eunos Roadster
3. Kyosho Gas Car (Vintage) - Starter broken and in pieces
4. Traxxas Stampede
5. Tamiya FWD FF01(chassis) Car - Some Rally Car Body on it.

I just bought a s2000 190mm HPI body that I am currently working on. Gonna make it my twin.
