Off-topic Talk Where overpaid, underworked S2000 owners waste the worst part of their days before the drive home. This forum is for general chit chat and discussions not covered by the other off-topic forums.

Really old school - does anyone remember?

My first one was a Tamiya Grasshopper (20+ years ago I would guess) , replaced many chassis' on that one due to running into curbs...
Bought a Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin a few years later, followed by a couple other Tamiya's including a Mini Cooper (original one, probably 10 years ago) and a couple of trucks a couple years ago that I still haven't painted yet.

I had HPI.

My first rc car was a truck though, and it was a Tamaya.

I had a grasshopper - correction - HAVE a grasshopper chassis in the garage from... geez, maybe 1987. I also had a Kyosho Optima.
I used to race them against friends on a hand-made track that we cut with a couple garden hoes in a hog lot! I also had a Kyosho 1:10 scale gas truck. The last time I looked, the only thing left of either of them was a busted up body shell, a bumper, and a rubber-maid bin full of odd parts, but it still smelled like Break-Free, shock oil, and Loc-Tite. I guess I've been workin' on something every since.

Back when I was 12 in 1987. I got a Team Associated Gator. It was pretty bad ass for the time, compared to my buddies that were playing with their grasshoppers and Hornets. Alum chassis with double wish bone front and alum shocks that were adj. full ind susp and the full bit. It had a 3 speed control which was exposed to the elements and didn’t take long for it to fry unfortunately. Then later in my early 20's I decided to get into the gas game and picked up a RC10GT truck. That was really fun, wile it was working. Too damn fussy, spend more time trying to get it started then actually playing with it. Now 15 years later as of last month, I decided it was time to pick up a new 4x4 slash. All I can say is WOW!!

My buddies older brother had the frog. We always thought it was "God".

I still have my Traxxas that I built in 1995. Purple haze motor. Larger gears. Might go play with it tomorrow since I went and found it.

I have some heli's too. They are all crashed though

Late 80's RC10 was my start in cars as well. Team Associated FTW!

Mid-70's my dad got me into flying with a wicked-expensive Kraft radio & servos (forget the plane model though).
