i heard in some muslim cultures a woman could be raped and then punnished/killed for not being a virgin at marraige. Is there any truth to this?

Yes.. I believe an Iraqi girl was recently killed by her family for this. And in another country, a woman was punished by the state, but international pressure caused a reversal.

Have you ever heard of Gary Plauche. He got revenge after his son was attacked...and a jury gave him 5 years probation, which is reasonable if you ask me.
