I didn't interpret his post to mean you should be raped. I got the impression he was saying that perhaps pursuing revenge through the justice system isn't as easy as it seems.

You could interpret that in a non-literal way. You could step outside your own experience/knowledge (i.e. talking to victims/survivors) to find out what the reality is of reporting sexual assault to the police. Your initial post suggested that going to the police would be a simple solution. For many people this is not a solution, but rather exacerbates their suffering.

which is exactly why I responded with an extremely sarcastic post..

yet I find it ammusing when one suggests that going to the police and seeking restitution is not a viable option. As if personal revenge is somehow justified..
