Johnyboy32,

Sorry to hear about your car!!! Man, that really bites the big one

I think you did the right thing, though. Nowadays, you never know who you are up against.... people are already under a lot of stress- layoffs, personal issues, etc..

Let the police sort it out....

good job!!!

It's great that you let it go. It's not worth it, he apologized. Maybe he just went through a extremely bad day. He was wrong nevertheless.

He should have kicked you in the face. Learn to drive, moron. Follow the traffic laws or you'll kill someone.

Here's another story.

In high school my friend's girlfriend was driving him to work while he slept in the fully reclined passenger seat, hidden from outside view. Some guy gets really pissed because she accidentally does something, so he follows her all the way to the restaurant that my friend works at, pulls up next to her, and starts yelling/cussing her out. My friend awakes and after a momentary 'what's going on' phase, absolutely snaps. The other guy rolls up his windows and locks his car in fear as my friend tears off his dress shirt ala the incredible hulk while pounding on that guys hood and calling him out. The security came and broke up the situation, thankfully, or my friend would have eventually dropped that guy and got arrested.

He said that when it comes to himself, he can disregard it, but when it comes to people close to him, he'll go into 'kill' mode. I'm the same way too.

The minute this bum kicked my car he would have been looking at a very sudden deterioration in his immediate health and well being. I think you showed commendable restraint in doing the right things. I also think it's admirable that you gave him that second chance. A court would have been able to order him to pay for the damage to your car though. Being made to pay for acts of Criminal Damage is by far the biggest deterrent to further offences. I hope it works out for you and you get your damage paid for.

The guy followed the offender home and noted down his address.

The next day he showed up with two ex con friends, walked in and said "remember me?",
his friends then tied the guy to a chair and proceeded to pour gasoline around the house and on the guy saying that they were going to set the place on fire. The guys wife was crying and the guy was so scared he shat himself. He payed cash on the spot.

I bet he won't road rage ever again!
Those guys must have been real dumb. Just think... deprivation of liberty, possible kidnapping, assault and who knows what else would seem a high price to pay for a lousy windscreen.
