Road rage goes too far. Kinda long
Wow, enlightening stories, you guys. I'm learning from it all. Mindcore & xviper, I'm glad you're both OK!
My own road rage stories occurs back when I had my first Civic (7 or 8 years ago). The road rage occurs a couple weeks after I was accused by a Best Buy employee that I stole the printer cartridge from deep inside the box of printer ink I was trying to return (I didn't take it, it was never in the box to begin with, woops!). So anyway, that whole incident got me incredibly pissed, face was flushed, adrenalin surging through every fiber of being, etc, and since I was young and helpless I called up my mom to help defend me and get my money back etc.
So two weeks later, I happen to pull up to a stoplight w/ my friend in my car, and we look over and voila, there's this Best Buy employee w/ his g/f in his own Civic. He looks over and makes it crystal clear that he remembers me. My best guess is that two weeks prior, he got fired from the incident or so riled up at what appeared to be a spoiled brat trying to fight for justice.
We take off to the next light. Being stupid as I was, I revved my engine on him on the way to the next light. (STUPID) I learned just how stupid it was to provoke this guy by what happened next. At the light, he got OUT OF HIS CAR, armed with one of those 16" Mag lights, and came running over toward my car. I was freaked, and basically took evasive action -- fear of being hit forcing me to make a right turn AROUND the car that was already making a right turn (DOH), to get away.
Lessons learned:
1) It's a small world, so be careful who you piss off.
2) Even a g/f in the car won't prevent someone from going mentally nuts.
3) Don't rev at someone you don't know.
