Default Samsung 56" 1080p DLP HDTV

I am looking to buy a nice TV for the house that I am buying. I have ran across this TV and it seems like the best bang for the buck.

Does anyone know anything about TVs and if so, is this a good TV?

If you have any other suggestions for a 50"+ TV for a good deal, feel free to psot up.

Thanks for the help!

Ryan

It's still a DLP so I would not expect much from your off angle viewing.

I thought that DLP was the best technology besides LCD and Plasma, no? Any suggestions around the same price range and > 50"?

Thanks!

DLP is the best tech next to LCD and Plasma. You simply get better off-angle viewing from the latter two. I'd suggest going smaller and getting an LCD or plasma. In that price range I'm a fan of the Samsung, and Panasonic products. If you want to pitch in more money the field opens immensely.

I don't "trust" most Korean products, but i hear good things about Samsung TV's and cell phones.

How far will you be sitting.. you don't need 1080p if you sit further than 7-8 feet as you won't be able to see a difference from 720p.

I think that the couches will be about 10 feet away. That's just a guess.

Would this LED version be worth the extra $200?

JVC makes a good product. Samsung is also well renowned in the industry and is regarded as one of the best.

Hell it is the official tv of the NFL.
