O.K. CRX's are pretty cool. Post a pic and I might be persuaded to change my tack.

I have a 97 prelude with 100K miles thats supercharged, it's been given me headaches ever since I supercharged it. Right now wholesale value on this car is 10k, I have about a dozen people offering me 14K to 15k to buy this car. I know I will never get this kind of money for this car later on down the road. I just can't see this car with anyone but me I love my prelude, I understand how you feel. Cars do become a part of your family. My family doesn't understand the attachment I have, most people won't. I say keep the car, it' really not giving up your baby for such little amount of money

I suppose if you've spent big bucks to get it how you want it, then you might want to hang onto it. It's a personal thing I suppose. I'm just careful to make sure that the car I buy fulfills whatever my needs are that time! When it doesn't.... it's got to go. I never really look back because with the exception of a few mistakes, I'm always well into the one I've just bought. It also makes a big difference if you've got room under cover to store it. I hated leaving one car out at night when we ran 2 cars. My garage only takes one. Storing cars even under optimum conditions isn't a good idea unless they're started up and taken for a spin regularly. They soon deteriorate. They're better being used regularly.

Cedric - I'm not sure if it is the same thing because you are on the other side of the pond, but in high school I had a '73 Mercury Capri (German Ford), it had a 2.6 V6 and a 4-speed. It was British Racing Green, black vinyl top and tan vinyl interior. That was the fastest car I had ever owned. Oh the fun that was had in that car. That is one of the two cars I wish I still had.

After today I'm starting to think maybe I should sell the CRX-Si. If I could post pick (only an enthusiast) I have a couple great ones of me in the CRX going up through the S's at Watkins Glen.

I loved to tell people that the BRG 73 Capri I drove for a while in high school had magic wipers. I would point at the wipers and say "Wiper's on" and they would make a pass. It was also fun to let people who didn't know any better drive the car at night and try to turn on the high beams. Everytime they turned the lights on bright the damned wipers would start.

Mine was a slightly earlier model than yours the V6, 3 litre, twin headlights, Daytona Yellow, black vinyl roof, wind- back sun roof and black fabric seats. They later changed to a 2.8 engine I'm fairly sure, for the U.K. market but there were German engined variants about. You probably had the slightly more 'edge' design looking model. Years ahead of it's time. Oh and they say the S2000 is tail happy!! I bought it off a guy who was running it on a shoestring and had put remould tyres on it.(LUNATIC!) It was about 18 months old. The first thing I had to do was fork out for 5 low profile radial tyres

I just remembered they used the same engine inthe Reliant Scimitar!

I managed to search the web and find this pic which is the later 2.8 model I was referring to.

Mine was the preceding model slightly more rounded. It had a single huge double down draught Webber carburetor

Sounds like we are taking about something very much the same! My '73 was the last year of the chrome bumpers and the 2.6. When the '74 came out with body colored plastic bumpers it had a 2.8 and the 2.8 was slower than the 2.6!
Without a locking rear differential I remember when coming out of a corner the inside rear would start to spin and if I got on the gas it would burn rubber down the road for quite a ways!
I crashed mine twice in 5 months. Decided it was too much car for me to handle and sold it. I got a more tame car ('73 AMC Gremlin X) and vowed to someday learn how to drive. Well after 10 years of driving at Watkins Glen, I look forward to getting back out on the track every spring to continue my learning!!!

So what am I going to do with the original Triple-H???
I wonder how much I could get for it if I sold it in the spring?

Man does this bring back memories, I know exactly what you are saying. I had my "toy" for about 13 years when I decided to sell it. It was an [install flame retardant suit] 1986 Pontiac Trans Am [/remove flame retardant suit] that I had slowly moded throughout the years. I finally had it where I wanted it and was only driving it when I felt like it. Everything was changed in this car...LT1 engine, alumuminum intake, cam, 750 Holey double pumper carb, headers, 3" exhaust into a flowmaster muffler into dual ANZA muffler tips, gears etc etc. Interior was in mint condition...just a fun toy... It then became a 3rd car and I never ended up using it so I sold after using sparingly over the last 4 or 5 summers. Just did not make sense to keep it insured for the road and only take it out a few times a month. One of the hardest things to do was getting rid of it...it almost became part of me, had lots and lots of fun with the car over the years.

BUT...I do not miss it today...I am just dying to get my hands on my S2000. As you know the differences between these 2 cars is huge, and mostly to the Honda's plus side . So take it for a long last drive, take lots of pictures and look forward to your S2000.

Here are a couple of quick pics of my previous toy.

Yeah, the memories. I had a 2600 V6 German Capri, red, 4 speed. Light in the rear end, could easily get rubber into 2nd and 3rd. It had rather low gearing.

Loved the engine and tranny, the rest of the car was CHEAP. Once riding with friends in the back the rear quarter window fell off and smashed on the road when opened! The seats were badly fixed. Stuff fell off in the interior all the time.

Finally it met its end when I went animal on it one night and wrapped it around a utility pole. Was drifting the rear back and forth and was not used to the extra weight of the rear passengers and lost the rear suspension and spun off the road. Amazing no one was hurt. My Dad had bought me the car used and got more back from the insurance than he paid for it. He was still pissed.

Man do I feel old! That was well over 20 years ago! Glad I survived my reckless teens.
