Short people..

Perhaps the competition came up short? It's offensive what is in reach of some ass holes today. Maybe he'll show some growth of character... I just hope he's not giving the people (figuratively) under him the short end of the stick.
Giving people the short end of the stick? You tell me. Since I wrote that post you quoted this morning my wife was contacted and told her job was being done away with as a cost cutting measure. Makes sence to me. She's been with the company 13 years and is paid more than the newer people. She also produces far more profits. On 2nd thought it makes no sence at all.

Actually, you missed the part where this guy's brother asked Van Damme if he forgot his shoe lifts that day.

Oh yeah, and I used to be a valet (first real job). One of the other valets retrieved this HUGE monster truck of a Ford. Totally lifted, at least, I don't know, 3.5-4 feet off the ground. So I'm assuming some huge tough guy to come claim his vehicle, but it's this 5'2" dude, and it just looked really odd seeing him literally climb into his vehicle.

Say what? Half a foot shorter than the wife? You've got balls!
I don't think 99% of men could deal with that. But kudos to you!
I usually dated girls that were 5' to 5'2", with several that were 5'7" or 5'8". I just didn't find really tall girls all that cute. Then I met this 6'2" chick that was into body building and didn't like guys trying to pick her up all the time. After a month or two of seeing her around I saw her in a game room playing a video game and a buddy of mine mentioned that no guy could get close to her. I thought what the hell, I like her, let's see what happens. I walked up behind her, got up on my tip toes and kissed the back of her neck. She lost her game and looked at me like I was nuts. Now we've been married over 22 years.
When we were younger we got a lot of crap and really stupid personal questions from people...

I don't think you were on your tip toes. No, you must've climbed on top of your massive nutsack to get up there.

That's awesome. How could she resist?

5'8" FTMFW, perfect fitment for the s2000 =] And there are plenty of attractive women in the 5'2"-5'6" range
I am shorter than average (even for latinos) at 5'5". It bothered me somewhat when I was in school as I was always the shortest of the class and the oldest at the same time. But I accepted I had no control over the matter and stopped worrying about it around the time I was 14-15.
There has been only two opportunities since then (that was 20 years ago) where it was a handycap. a) I was cut from the school basketball team because of my height (That was the official reason - I coulda sued :-) ) b) Was rejected from bodyguard duty in the army because the rule was you had to be taller than the person you were protecting.
As far as women goes it never crossed my mind when asking a girl out. If any of them ever said no because of that I will never know nor care to know. Like I said, it is something out of my control so it really is their problem not mine. Same goes for work/life, I let my actions/work speak for themselves. If I can't reach a shelf, I get a ladder.

I'm 5'8" and have been that height since I was 17. Everybody kept saying I was going to grow a few more inches until I was at least 20, but
Then again , I grew up in Asia. Even so, I was only on the taller side of average. There were plenty of taller guys around. Yet I never felt that the taller guys had any advantage over there. Cultural differences I guess.

I suppose I can understand where this would come from and frankly I don't know how comfortable I'd be being short. The one example that keeps playing in my mind is women.. - I can appreciate a "taller" woman - up to my height - but it would be pretty imasculating to have a "petite" woman be similar in stature and an average woman taller than me, that really narrows down the playing field.
I'm a short guy 5'6", and I've never had a problem - a few pew picked on me once or twice when I was younger, but I didn't really understand why. So I'm shorter than most guys, what's the big deal?
My last ex-girlfriend was a model - 5'10", 116-120lbs. It took her a while to get over my height, but it didn't even occur to me that it would be a problem. She towered over me when she wore heels. It was actually kind of funny, emasculating? Are you kidding? Because I was dating a very kind and beautiful girl? Narrows the playing field? The field is as small or as large as you choose to make it.
