I kinda skimmed some of this. Here is what I think about your neighbors.

First how about meeting them? Talking to them. I doubt they'd kill you right off.

Okay, my take is that these muslim, or Sikh (sometimes the dress can be similar) kids are probably in the IT industry. They came straight from Pakistan or India and bought the house for an investment. They may have a 2 or so year contract to work in the US. They don't want to mess up the house so it will be easier to sell, they also don't want to invest any money in fixing it up because it's just an investment that they happen to be able to stay in. They are up all night because they severly miss home and all their friends have daytime when it's night in the US. They chat on yahoo messenger all night long.

I can see where the OP is coming from so I don't blame him for being paranoid, but I can tell you from experience, my explanation is most likely accurate. I have relatives who live kind of like this. They are just people trying to make their way. They heard about this way of life from their friends who have done the same. To them it's more like a penance. They are just trying to make money to help support themselves, be worthy of a wife from a good family and probably send money back to mom and pop.

If they are practicing muslims then it could be a big boon for you. Practicing muslims don't drink alcholol or do drugs -no wild parties and other great social laws of their religion. I'd much rather have 2 quiet guys living next door who don't make noise and mind their own business.

I understand how stereotyping and ignorance can raise fears. Back when there were all these major police problems where the cops were abusing citizens I was driving throught rural Indiana and a cop was behind me. I stopped at a stop sign and he stopped behind me. When I started he rammed me. I was so scared I thought he was for sure some foriegner hating, KKK, redneck and was going to kill me and my 2 Indian relatives in the car. Rather he was very nice and apologetic and said his foot simply slipped.

At a push a might be able to tell you 5 things about my neighbours, but I do mean at a push.




To be honest it sounds like you have decided that they are terrorists, so why don't you call the authorities?

Me personally? As long as what they do doesn't affect me, I probably could care less if they're terrorists or not, just don't blow up my house or pee on my grass. But since its you, and im online, i say call the feds so it makes for more interesting reading at work.

camera_obsura, if my neighbor called the cops on me just because I "look" like a terrorist/rapist/murderer/drugdealer, I'd beat the shit out of that neighbor. You seem like the kind of person that would need to get a beat down a head of time just so you wouldn't do anything that 'stupid'.

tons of good responses in this thread. but, some of you sound like closeminded rednecks. you're the kind of people that probably harassed your asian neighbors for being spies 50 years ago.
