I've just been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to utilize all the advice that was given, but I do agree that it is a self-confidence issue.

Unfortunately, nothing really you can do IMO...unless you are a shameless "skirt-chasing" playa going after girls only for some "action" and move on to the next. And yes, girls do know what you are up to...they aren't stupid. You are taking a chance either way, depending on what kind of girl she is. Now that doesn't mean you can't strike a conversation if, by some odd coincidence, there is legitimate reason to talk to her at the "register." By all means, make a full use of your charm when the opportunity presents itself!

I dont' really think being not so aggressive as you seem to be (just making an assumption here) is necessarily a bad thing. In this day and age, it might strike a girl as quite "interesting and refreshing." Just be yourself, and don't worry about it.
