Here's my 2 cents. If anybody really cares, Sony is promising 100,000 units per week after the initial release this week of 500,000 units. If this holds true there will be plenty to go around by Christmas and beyond (8 more shopping weeks left). As for price drop not likely until either Xbox (late next year if ever) or the new Nintendo arrive in 2002. The DVD player is a nice feature. A little bit of advice for anyone who doesn't want to camp out. Many of the online retailers did not take preorders and will have limited quantities available at 12:00am if you have a fast connection get your credit card (ewallet) ready and keep hitting that refresh button until it says "buy"

After waiting in line at two places between midnight and noon and not getting one, I went to amazon and caught their sale.

It was over in around 10 seconds but mine will be here monday. Now I just need GT2000.
