In German the letter W is pronounced like our letter V. That's how it can be written Wega and still pronounced Vega.

To further confuse the issue: there's no way to pronounce V in the Japanese language.

 

is that to say that a japanese person cannot physically produce the "v" sound? Even if you showed him how? (the way some people cannot roll their "r's" as desired in some spanish words).

plus, download some japanese tv commercial clips from kazaa or something-
you'll notice that at the end of the clip you here some perfect english pronounciation
of the company/ product name spoken by some hired english speaking person.

they say, PANASONIC, even tho japanese people read them, panasoniku,
advan, when they read it, ah- doban,
mcdonalds, pronounced magudonarudo.
they know how they should be pronouced, so doesn't mean we have to say the way they do.

nope, we say playstation, everyone knows the proper prounciation key for the
