We are back in 4S now but this area is still unstable according to law enforcement. The other side of the hills are burning and we saw that as we came through Camino Del Sur but was closed by law enforcement. Went around through Dove Canyon and all those houses are out of power. Good luck out there.
CJS2K you went back to 4s? When I left last night, outskirts of rsf by our houses had just starting burning and they had police stationed at every possible entrance to 4s/rancho santa fe (Rb/Camino del norte-Togo's, Camino del Sur back road, Carmel Valley back road, Rb Rd backroad)... are we allowed back now or no?

I live in 4S Ranch but I'm out of town. Where are the fires exactly?
Here is a good link to keep up to date on the fires.

We were stopped by law enforcement as we arrive at the house but we told them that we got evacuated from our other home in Chula Vista and had no place to go. They approved us to stay but told us to keep an eye on the hills because it could still flare up. I was up all night in front of the window and fortunately, it didn't flare up. Saw a few fires but the wind was blowing it away from 4S. We are not sure if it is approved for residents to come back but we are here and we decided to just stay put and keep our eyes and ears on the news and updates from a.m. 600 kogo. I saw a couple of fire engines last night patrolling and working on some of the embers remaining from yesterday's fires out here but nothing too dangerous.

Those pics are from our Chula Vista home that we evacuated from and then we returned to 4S through Dove Canyon from Camino Del Sur last night.

Homeowner's insurance here is a little odd already b/c of Earthquakes. However, for fire, there should be some coverage.

The issue will be what eventually happens due to the LARGE number of claims.

Best of luck to all of you. We've got friends all over the area even though we live in a Hurricane, not Fire area.

Still waiting to hear from several.

Most lenders won't even provide you w/a loan unless you have fire coverage, earthquake insurance is a little tougher, they offered us earthquake coverage w/a 75,000 deductible, so we turned it down. Most houses aren't covered since an earthquake is considered an act of god.
