Speak spanish, get a ticket in dallas!
While I agree it's much harder / dangerous driving in a country where signage and cops are using a language that's foreign to you, we may as well shut down international tourism if we're gonna start requiring fluency in the native language. Let's see, I coulda been arrested in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Argentina, Eqypt, Monaco, Vatican City, Sicily, Quebec, Costa Rica, Aruba, St Maarten, China, Barbados. Guess I've been really lucky.

its one thing if you can't understand someone because the grammar is so bad, its another if you nitpick someone's post to the extreme, which happens here way too much.
Oddly though, nearly ALL other cuontries require you to speak their language to recieve their benefits. Then again, as americans we are pretty dumb to not be taught a 2nd or 3rd language growing up.
English should be the primary, and it should be mandated to teach our kids a 2nd or 3rd while in elementary school.

I forgot to capitalize the e...rly dude...
why are there so many grammar police on s2ki?
I guess my comeback is "I can't tell the translated versions of DMV material anything, they are books."

As someone mentioned it before, I was pointing out the un-capitalized "english" because if you value English so much, you gotta laid down the respect when writing it.
Nonetheless, I do encourage and hope people learn the native language of a country they reside in. But to obtain a license through DMV, they do make sure non-English speakers can also read signs in English.
