Do they have any sort of device in unmarked cars/SUVs that they can use to determine your speed other than pacing? Are they reliable if so? I'll probably have someone appear in court for me, that's what I did the last time.

if he was pacing you you have a great chance to beat it.

even if he shows up to court, if you have a valid arguement and you sound intelligent, you have a good chance to beat it.

do some research. ask him how he measured your mph speed, how accurate that is, etc etc...

alot of depts (esp in CA) are giving out BS tickets casue the state needs money. Just paying them is ridiculous.

I recently got a "40 in a 25" bs ticket and it was dropped. she was "pacing" me.
Yes im on your side. But the number one mistake people make in these cases is speaking to the cops. Have you ever heard the bit that says "Whatever you say can and WILL be used agaisnt you" This holds true to ANY police encounter.

If you say anything it should be, "Am I free to go?" DO NOT say anything else, a lawyer will love you for this because chances are if you say nothing to the cops, your case will be resolved fairly easy.

What harm is speaking to the police, even if you have done nothing wrong? Well all those harmless questions help them build a case against you. The police are not you friend and are not there to help you, they only exist to arrest, help make convicions and make money for the state.

They are trained and even take classes to learn to be proverbial spin doctors. Ever get into an argument with a woman where she was clearly in the wrong, then in the end had you apologising even though you were wronged? Well cops are masters of the same thing.

The field is their court, their turf and specialty, this is their career and they train it to their advantage. Say NOTHING to them, and have them play it in your field, which is in court with a lawyer!!

NEVER EVER speak to police!!!

I think s2ki needs its own Legal Advice forum, and a speeding ticket sub-forum within. Theres atleast one of these every week.

That said, I dont really see what argument you have against the ticket.
It could just be a sub-forum of the dumbster...

yes that was intentional...

LOL i love everyone that says fight every ticket, like somehow the laws shouldn't apply and you shouldn't have to follow them. You clearly admit you were speeding........ so whats the deal? Who cares if he was 5 mph off or not (BTW if you are relying on your speedo I assume you are 100% stock with OEM Wheels and Tires). You were in the wrong. Deal with it and stop being a whiny little biatch.

I surely hope it doesnt qualify as a personal attack lol! It was merely a suggestion to show I support him in his love of law and oppression, and that he too should show the police how much he supports and respects them ^^

Just pay the ticket and don't get caught speeding again. And use your effin' turn signals. The other people on the road aren't frickin' mind readers.
