Default Sport watch

I've had my watch for almost 20 years. I sent it back to the factory to be serviced, cleaned, etc and it came back looking almost like new. This is my only watch and I wear it for everything, from working out at the gym to doing various home improvement projects to turning wrenches. So now I'm thinking about getting a beater watch, partly to take some heat off my good one and partly to help out with my newfound sport of running.

Any suggestions on a good sport watch? Doesn't need to be real elaborate, basic stopwatch function is fine but I'd like it to be durable. Thanks in advance.

are you partial to digital or analog?

if digital, a casio g-shock or a timex iron-man.

if analog, my seiko chronographs have been pretty reliable.

What kind of watch is your good one? You must not love it too much if you use it while wrenching on cars.

Stainless Steel Rolex Daytona. Only problem it carries a 5 year waiting list to buy one. With everybody carrying a cell phone why wear a watch? I have 5 Rolex watches all sitting in one of my gun safes, if I need the time I look at the phone.

My current watch is a stainless submariner. I love it and it has been very durable but like I said, I'd like to take the heat off a bit plus lack of exact timing points me towards a second sports watch. I'd prefer digital for ease of stopwatch function.

Daytona is a beauty but a little more than I was thinking of spending.

carry a cell phone:
cell phones have a functional basic stop watch and the time of day is never off. it has a calendar; no guess, the day is highlighted. built in alarm clock; power never goes out + it never does the weekends.
main benefit here is your people can talk to you.

feeling personally unique and want jewelery?; get the ear(s) pierced. unless your testing metal detectors why have a watch?

I would suggest you look at Tissot (www.tissot.ch).

Excellent swiss made, quartz watches.

Variety of analog, digital and mixed analog/digital.

A step up from seiko / timex but not going to break your bank.

I've had one for at least 10 years, wear it daily and only had to change the battery twice. It wears like iron. I just added a second dress watch.
