Stop Photo Enfoecement
why? so public officials can ignore it? everyone is opposed to those things when it goes to popular vote, city officials only do it to give themselves a bigger budget. not to rain on your parade but a petition is going to accomplish absolutely nothing.
lemme explain
Petitions exist to notify public officials that the public feels strongly about an issue.
Reason this petition is pointless: Public officials *already know* that the public is strongly against photo enforcement.
K? I'm not saying do nothing. I'm saying a petition is worthless.
What you can do is vote.

Meh, I don't think that will go anywhere.
What I will say is that photo enforcement has slowed significantly in Metro Atl because the cameras are too expensive. They generate a moderate amount of revenue for the first year, but once people know they are there the cameras didn't even cover their monthly expenses.
My story about why your stupid petition is stupid:
I worked in a building at one of the busiest intersections in Atlanta. The lights worked beautifully, effectively managing traffic and mitigating congestion in the area. Unfortunately people were impatient and liked to run the red lights too often. This resulted in several heart-wrenching and fatal accidents.
Let me be the first to tell you, there's nothing like going to the break room for lunch to see a corpse being wheeled away 100 ft away...
Cops became an almost-permanent fixture at the light which reduced accidents significantly. Since manpower was needed elsewhere and the expense of an on-duty cop @ the light seemed ridiculous, the county installed red light cameras. Long story short, fatal accidents in the entire 3 years since installation are less than 10% of the previous annual average. The fines collected for disobeying the law do not pay for 1/4 of the annual expense of the cameras, monitoring, etc.
I am a libertarian, but this is RETARDED.

I have yet to see ANY petition from Petitiononline actually cause anything to be done about the topic in the petition.

As was stated, your vote during the next civic election is what will change things. That, and after you win your case with the help of Ticket Assassin, going to your next City Council meeting with your won case. . . and showing them how they are flagrantly breaking the law.
